Privacy Policy

TranslateNow ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed by Ayyub Najafzade. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application and Share Extension.

1. Information We Collect

We are committed to minimizing data collection. Here is what we collect and what we do not:

            We do NOT collect: your name, email, phone number, location, device identifiers, or any personal information. We do not have user accounts or registration.
        

Text you translate: When you use the App to translate text, that text is sent to our server which forwards it to the OpenAI API for processing. We do not store, log, or retain any of the text you translate on our servers. The text is processed in real-time and discarded immediately after the translation is returned to you.

Translation history: Your translation history is stored locally on your device only, using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Subscription data: If you subscribe to TranslateNow Pro, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status through Apple's StoreKit framework.

Usage count: We store a daily translation count locally on your device to enforce free-tier usage limits. This data is not sent to any server.

2. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party service:

OpenAI API: Text you submit for translation is sent to OpenAI's servers for processing. OpenAI processes this data according to their API Data Usage Policy. As of the date of this policy, OpenAI does not use data submitted via their API to train their models.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

3. Data Storage and Security

All app data (translation history, language preferences, usage counts) is stored locally on your device.
Communication between the App and our translation server uses HTTPS encryption.
We do not maintain any database of user data.

4. Share Extension

The TranslateNow Share Extension allows you to translate text from other apps. Text shared through the extension is processed the same way as in-app translations — sent to OpenAI for translation and not stored on our servers.

5. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, the App is safe for use by all ages.

6. Data Retention

We do not retain any user data on our servers. Translation text is processed in real-time and immediately discarded. Local data on your device persists until you delete the App or clear the data manually.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

You can delete your translation history within the App at any time.
You can delete all App data by uninstalling the App.
No data deletion request to us is necessary, as we hold no user data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
